About Dr. Winnie Y. Au, D.Ac., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., Dipl. C.H.
Dr. Winnie Au, D.Ac. comes from a family of generations of Chinese doctors. She has served in the Oriental medical field since 1986 in China, Hawaii and Texas. She graduated from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, one of the most prestigious colleges in the field. She is also a graduate of the University of Health Science in Hawaii, earning the title of Doctor of Acupuncture (D.Ac.) which is recognized by the state of Hawaii with all the rights and privileges and honors thereunto pertaining. She is a National Board Certified Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbologist (NCCAOM). She is currently licensed to practice in both Texas and Hawaii.
Dr. Au (pronounced "O") served as a board director for the Hawaii Acupuncture Association from 1998 to 2000. She was also an instructor at the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, in Hawaii. Her dedication to promote and practice Acupuncture in Hawaii has earned her an award from the Hawaii Acupuncture Association in the year 2000. She is currently a member of American Acupuncture Council, and a member of American Traditional Chinese Medical Traumatology Association. She is also a member of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.
Following in the footsteps of both her grandfathers and parents, Dr. Au has studied Chinese medicine since her teens. She has served as a Chinese physician and licensed acupuncturist over 20 years. Her philosophy in patient care is to treat the causes as well as the signs and symptoms of disorders. Dr. Au enables her patients to recognize and strive towards achieving optimum health.
