Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture is a specialized complementary therapy where acupuncture points on the outer ear are diagnosed and treated illness, using either needles, press pins, ear pallets or electro acupunctoscopes to help relieve many complaints. There are over 200 acupuncture points on the outer ear, each point named generally after areas of the anatomy, e.g. shoulders, knees, hips, liver, heart, etc. and to certain disharmonies. These points correspond with functions of our internal organs as defined by Chinese Medicine. This microsystem is commonly used for treating addictions (such as nicotine, drug, alcohol), weight loss, pain control, and stress, etc. Auricular acupuncture may be used as a primary mode of treatment or in conjunction with other treatments such as acupuncture, bodywork or herbal medicine.
